Round 4 AC. It's a knockout!
Hi all. I had my last round of AC treatment a bit over a week ago. I'm sure they doubled the dose!! Every other time I have been coming good by after about day 5 but this time I am still aching. I was determined to do something yesterday and not have an afternoon sleep. It took 2 hours to dust 2 rooms with lots of rests and then I vacuumed and washed the floor! Woohoo! But I am still aching this morning.
Thought my good run would have to come to an end. I have 2 weeks to get on top of things before I start 12 weekly doses of paclitaxel.
Luckily no one expects too much of me here at home.

Just remember to be kind to yourself and listen to your body and be gentle to your tummy as AC goes from the extremes of constupation in the initial days to runs later on quickly so make sure you have both something like movicol (when constupated) and gastrostop (if the runs hit) and vary your diet accordingly.
I am just on the 1st round of it (day 14) and I did bugger things up by not acting appropriately when loose stools hit so now suffering the consequences and hoping things heal this week before I go for round 2.
And in the initial 3 days do try to have someone supervise your taking the meds (if at all possoble) as brain is a bit cloudy on those days regardless of how hard you think and concentrate. I thought it was just me almost overdosing by taking tablets at the wrong time (thinking it was something else) then almost taking it again at the correct time. Sheer luck stopped me. But then another lady on this group told me did in fact O.D. the other day as similarly to myself she took once daily tablet in error twice thinking it was the nausea tablet so definitely not just me...

I hope you feel better soon. I'm interested to hear about reactions to all this - my treatment starts in a week, and I'm on the same treatment as you, so I have my fingers crossed that I'll handle it ok too. Good luck with it all, I hope the nexxt round is not quite so rough for you.

Jel.I am just reading the Adelaide Advertiser. I should have chosen my words more carefully. My comment about a doubled dose was an attempt at humour and not in any way a suggestion that mis management was involved. Sorry for my flippancy
Accumulated effects is what they say. I just finished my last and was down for 8 days but good after that. You are doing a lot more than me though. Take care. Kath x
Congratulations on finishing AC and sorry to hear it has drained you.
I do admire you still doing the housework while feeling like that. I hope it gets better soon and you recover well before the next treatment begins.
