Rashes

Hello ladies. I haven't been on for a while as I have started my treatment. I had first lot of chemo and went well for first couple of days then it hit me. I have had mouth thrush, sty and conjunctivitis which I seem to have under control. This morning when I got up I now seem to have a weird rash over my torso and it is a bit itchy. Has anyone else experienced rashes while on chemo. I am worried they won't give me my next treatment if I have anything is that correct. Thank you for feed back
  • Thank you so much ladies. Rash appears to be settling down. Will check with oncologist on Tuesday. Did ask Breast Care nurse she told me to talk to clinic nurse.
  • I had a patchy, itchy, flaky rash twith taxol on my elbows, forearms and knees. Incredibly itchy then my skin would flake off.  Had to stay on cortisone the whole way through so ended up looking like a puffer fish.  Kept the rash under control though.
  • I developed red itchy hands but only on the top so both hands and most fingers they eventually turned brown so don’t look so weird and they match my currently turning brown boob from radiation
it was a very common side effect of one of the chemo drugs I was given
  • Iused to be flushed all over with AC and had itchy red skin on taxol. But do speak with your treating team abiut it or bc nurse.
  • Yes, I had an itchy rash on my neck and chest during chemo. My oncologist said it was a 'normal' response and to get some topical cream from the chemist. You'll be seeing your onc before your next infusion? Get him/her to check it out and advise. Chemo is strong poison and there is a wide variety of reactions. Hang in there. K xox
