Hi Annie
I have had 30 of my 35 radiotherapy sessions so far and I must say TO DATE I have been very lucky with no major blisters, pain etc. only some discomfort that after chemo I can handle, but I find to wear a bra is too uncomfortable and restricting. I have gone out and bought some singlets and wear them. You may be able to wear those singlet tops that have like a little bra top in them just from places like Kmart and Target. I am very fortunate in that I still have both my breasts so I stick those lil nipple covers on over my nipples, then a singlet and then my shirt on otherwise in the cold weather my headlights are always on. That is working for me. I walk to my radiotherapy in the mornings when it is still cool.
You might sail through and not have any discomfort if you are wearing a loose fitting bra but if you do you will have to look at something less restricting. It is important for the area to get some fresh air on it as well I have found that has helped me.
Hopefully the other girls have some further suggestions for you as well.
Good luck with your radiotherapy, put ofnlots of cream, get fresh air to the area and look after yourself. If you have any concerns what so ever, speak up, I have found everyone very very helpful in the radiotherapy department I attend and they want to do everything they can to keep you comfortable but they definitely push the use of lots of cream.
Mich xoxo
