Radiation Newbie
I have just started radiation & have had 2 of 35 zaps. I went red after 1St treatment which didn't surprise me too much as I am fair skinned & its been some time since that part of my anatomy has bee...
Hi everyone,
Thanks heaps for all your advice and support. I have just started the booster zaps, & my skin waited until the last day of zapping to the whole breast before blisters formed on the top & split underneath. Damn it! But its ok I only have 7 zaps left to go
I have found that cold aloe immediately after treatment and moo go after a shower worked best for me. I tried some "organic" creams but found they generally had too much alcohol in them and were a bit stingy. The paw paw on the chest works wonders for stopping the itching.
The best medicine I had though was a visit from my big sister & then my baby brother who normally lives overseas. A day spent swimming on the barrier reef in those so very very sexy stinger suits was so worth the laughs and the absolute exhaustion that I experienced afterwards.
I am extraordinarily lucky to have found the cancer really early and do not require chemo, just surgery, radiation & tamoxifin. I am humbled by the generosity shown by the women here.
