Post Treatment side effects?

I had a mastectomy in October '13 and chemotherapy (3 x FEC, 3 x Docataxol) from December to March 14.  I had a relatively easy ride through surgery and chemotherapy but now it would appear that I'm getting the chemo side effects.  Has anyone else had this happen?  I'm not on any hormone therapy because I was triple negative.

My symptoms are a constantly sore right elbow (lymph glands taken from the right, mastectomy on right breast only) and very weak, tingling or numb fingers and hands and sometimes toes as well.

My hands swell when I sit down or when I'm laying in bed.  When I stand up it will take me several minutes to get the feeling back in my feet and hands.

I know when I've done too much because I will sit down and promptly fall asleep for half an hour.

Chemo finished mid March and it is now mid July.  How long will this go on?

  • Hello! Firstly, congrats on finishing your treatment. And, welcome to the world of docetaxel. I finished my chemo 18 months ago. My hands and feet suffered also. My hands swell and go numb when I am in bed reading. Or sometimes, I wake in the morning with a numb arm. I find I am very clumsy. I think the ends of my fingers are numb. My feet are not so good. Still numb and tingly. I take lyrica and endep which has helped but I can still feel it. I tend to hobble around the house. One thing, you get used to it. I have forgotten what it's like to not have sore feet. BUT.....I am here and that is all that matters. I am also TN. Do you belong to the Triple Negative group on here? With love Paula xx
