It sure is a nuisance and painful. I have had regular lynphatic drainage massages since my first diagnosis in 2006. After my second diagnosis in 2010 and subsequent surgery, radiation and chemo, my arm is so sore and swollen. All the same precautions still apply - cover the arm to stop sunburn, insect bites etc whilst in the garden, keep the arm moisturised and soft, be careful of any infections in the arm, wear a compression garment whilst travelling BUT still problems. You will need to consult a Physio who specialises in lymphodema just to confirm or deny if it is lymphodema. I have consulted a Neurologist and still live with pain and tingling in my hands, legs and feet. I now wear orthotics in my shoes. I was taking Lyrica for the pain which enabled me to get a good nights sleep. However I am not a lover of taking heavy drugs so managed to "get off" them just before Xmas. I am hoping that one day I may be able to walk freely and have improved pain management. Most days I look like an old lady when I go from sedementary to moving. Nothing will stop me though - I garden, swim, walk and be as active as I can. I hope that your pain improves soon. Everyone is different. XLeonie
