Hi all, I received my diagnosis a couple of days ago from a surgeon who made Doc Martin seem like the Dalai Llama. Those guys really don't have people skills, do they?
Anyway, I'm a lot afraid and...
Hi Pepi,
The thing that helped me the most when first diagnosed was actually from a pretty average movie called After Earth (it came out last year and stars Will Smith and his son). The main charcter is talking about fear and how it is not real. Fear is your imaginings of events yet to happen and solely created in your mind. I really wish I could remember its wording but essentially danger is real fear is not. Every time I started worrying and stressing about 'What If's' I would stop myself. Why stress myself out and use engergy over things that may not ever happen?! Check out the movie to get the actual inspiring wording :)
As for t-shirts I saw a picture of one that said on the front: Yes they are fake. My real ones tried to kill me!
You are at the hardest part with the tests, surgery and waiting. Break it all down into parts. One step at a time and you will get there!
I dont know if you are on pinterest at all but there are thousands of positive quotes and links to good things.
You cant control what happens in your life but you can control how you react to it!
All the best for this BC rollercoaster ride.
