Hi Jody
Nail issues are quite common with certain chemotherapy drugs, and unfortunately some women even lose their nails.
I'm sure you'll get a few responses from women. In the meantime, BCNA has some information on nail issues during chemo which you can find on our website. The page includes a few practical strategies to help you manage these issues. I think the key priority for women who lose their nails is to avoid infection by keeping the area clean, using rubber gloves for household tasks, and perhaps using a topical antiseptic cream to help avoid infection. Your pharmacist should be able to provide help you select a cream.
If your nails do become infected, or you experience any other worrying changes, it's a good idea to chat with your medical oncologist.
All the best Jody
