Hi, great post on what you experienced. As you already know, I've had a good experience with cold capping too. It has been easier than I expected. I take panadol before I start - which helps deal with the first 10 minutes of potential 'brain freeze'. I agree with what you said - you don't notice it after the first 10-15 mins.
I've lost eyelashes/eyebrows and no hair growing on the rest of my body, so I know that would have been the same with my hair if I hadn't done scalp cooling.
My machine looks similar - only it pumps cold water through the coils. My nurses always spray my hair and get it wet enough to start.
Hope more people give it a go and I agree it should be more readily available as an optional extra with treatment.
