My chemo is finished

HI there ladies,

Well at last my chemo is over, hip hip hooray. I am so happy you would think I won and award. Funny I had an appointment with my Oncologist this week and she congratulated me for finishing my chemo, I found that strange. I found the course of treatment horrendous and I felt like I had almost all the side effect possible.

My husband and I are off for a short break and then I am back in hospital 20th May to have my left kidney removed before radiation can be done.

So I still have a bit of a way to go but am at the half way point.

I am feeling a little better each day and can't wait till the whole chemo experience is a distant memory.

  • This is the new stage I am at, I agree with you.  I have had some big challenges lately that  the words vulnerable and fragile would explain.  You always have great input!  Thank you, Bel

  • I won't have my radiation until after my kidney op, there is a 4 week recovery after the surgery and then radiation more recovery and hopefully I'll get back to work.

I have missed work or should I say the  people so much,  its the interaction with other people everyday that I miss, being home alone all day isn't much fun.

My radiologist seems to have no humour nor does my oncologist or breast surgeon, after I was inintially diagnosed by Peter Mac and was referred to the surgeon she asked me to disrobe so she could have a look, I suggested why not everyone else in Melbourne had had a look why shouldn't she, she was not amused at all. Too funny really......

Let me know how the radiation goes as you will be finished by the time I start.

    cheers

    Donna
