Just starting chemo

Today is my first blog.  I have had a lumpectomy followed by an axillary dissection.  I finally (well it felt like a long time) today had my appointment with my medical oncologist.  Looks like chemo will start next week.  Once again it is a waiting game until they find a spot, but they think it will be next week.

I just want some certainty.  I want it all to start so that it can all be over.

3 cycles of FEC followed by 3 cycles of Docetaxel.  This gets followed by radiation and then hormone treatment.  Such a long treatment for what seemed like nothing when I first felt it.

  • Hi - This is my first post as well - your diagnosis and treatment plan sounds very similar to mine (now 5 years on).

I remember the time waiting to start chemo was very difficult, being unsure of what to expect and feeling as though you don't have much choice about it!

I tried to just focus on each treatment, one at a time, and not look too far ahead. It will pass, although I know it seems like a long road ahead right now.

Always happy to share my experience if it helps, as I'm sure many others on the network will be. V xox
