It's Chemo Time
Well my journey is starting today attending my first chemo... Doing AC once every fortnight. The good news is (if there is ever good news with BC and chemo) is that they are trying out the "cold cap"...
Hi Chris. I found with chemo, that my worst days were generally about day 3 to 7. I had a different combination. Everyone reacts differently. Take all the medications as instructed, even if you don't feel nauseated. It does help.
I hope the ice cap works. It wasn't an option here, so I lost all my hair. Having said that, there is a sense of freedom in not having hair. I did buy a wig, for work, as I wanted to look "normal" . I have a lot of interactions with the public. The wig has never been terribly comfortable, & so I've decided this week, after 6 months, that I won't be wearing it any more. I finished chemo early October, & my hair is starting to grow back, so the wig isn't going to get any more comfortable.
Hope your chemo is uneventful. Take care, Lyn
