Is anyone online ? Urgent question

Thanks Linda. Sorry that the neulasta didn't help. I know how annoying hospital admissions for neutropenia can be. I had a nurse, then a doctor try and insert the cannula - each had three painful goes which all failed as my veins collapsed or I had rely bad scar tissue. They ended up getting the doctor that looks after me in the chemo unit (who isn't an oncologist but always sees me on infusion day) he got it in one go without any pain!  Some are just better than others, I guess.

I just wanted to comment about the neulasta injection. I had it each and every time with chemo, it didn't seem to help me. My neutrophils were down and I ended up in hospital 5 times. I didn't have a port so dr's used a vein, if they could find one which hadn't closed down. I think the dr's in emergency need to practise putting needles in, they always had to try several times. It was agony!

anyway, you have got through it. Last chemo yippee!! ????????

Sorry didn't mean to scare you. All is good. I just really hate going to hospital now. Been there 3 times in one week!!! Was hoping to avoid another visit, alas, it was not to be. Back home now. Still have fever though....

Hi all, thanks for your words of wisdom. Back home again. They think it is probably something viral ] as blood cultures were clear. Neutrophils fine so got away without having to have antibiotics. Hopefully that was the last time in ED for a fever!!

Good decision Nadi, hope you are ok!!!! As for your port that sucks as for a picc line i've had mine in since December and all good....

Missed this post last nite. Yep emergency dept. Fever means infection and infection means intravenous antibiotics within one hour. As much as I hate hospitals that is the one written law I will adhere to if that happens to me.

Hi Nadine - I hear your reluctance as you say lots and lots of visits to the ED.  Crumbs you've had a rough trot!  I do hope today you are much happier, temperature back where it should be.

Last chemo cycle!  Yay!

That legitimately scared the crap out of me. I actually have to actually go poop now. Saw this while checking on my phone (boy, this could use an app!) and made a mad dash to get on the computer to find out how you were and if you went.
