Icon Cancer Centre
If you want to get away from the "hospital" environment whilst undergoing radiation therapy, I can highly recommend the Icon Cancer Centre in Revesby NSW.
It's a brand new facility with amazing staff and it's in suburbia. You park right outside for free; you don't have to walk through corridors of wards; the shopping centre is across the road and it smells nice.
It has a reception area rather than a waiting room and my appointments have been on time, every time.
It's hard to describe but I feel less "sick" because it feels more normal and everyday.

Now new site in my suburb North Lakes Qld - First successful AC treatment that I had, the male nurse arabesqued across the room - very Hugh Jackman (Boy from Oz-style)
- @Jax1964 sounds like you are having a good time with the music! We find we have to be careful what we play as some songs have the opposite effect! And some patients request no music.
Haha, must be hard not to tap along, I’ve have to remind a few to keep still!!!! - So I'm in Week 4 of rads and the whole experience has been (dare I say it) pleasant!
The staff are a delight and we've been having enormous fun with my 80s rock playlist. I leave it up to the nurse to pick the tunes and some days there is just a huge temptation to tap along. [must hold still]
Day 2 was Queen - I want to break free
Day 3 Warrant - Cherry Pie
Day 4 David Bowie, Major Tom
and today we had Midnight Oil - Beds are Burning
Day 6: Motley Crue - Dr Feelgood
Day 7: Rolling Stones - Light Me Up [hahahahaha]

Day 12: International Women's Day... Alicia Keyes - Girl on Fire

Day 14: Queen - Don't Stop Me Now
Day 15: Guns n Roses - Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Seriously - it might seem trivial but it has made a huge difference to how I approach my treatment.

I'm just doing radiation but I assume they do a full range of cancer treatments - Hi jax great to hear that treatment going ok after the quandry of finding somewhere to park the bus
