Have had great results with this gel on radiation burn

No worries Nicola, I've been slow in replying too. Not sure how I miss some notifications sometimes :) Anyway, I burnt quite badly, had extra appointments with radio oncologists. Different medications both topical and oral to try ease burns, nausea, pain & nerve pain. I'm now 4 weeks since the last radio treatment and just today have had to see GP regarding a very sore, reddened area along part of my scar. GP seems to think my wound may be breaking down - oh yay....not. The rib underneath is also quite tender, has been on and off since about halfway through radiotherapy. I'm returning to work tomorrow after 5 weeks off and had been doing somewhat better from radiotherapy side effects until a few days ago when this area flared up - I had mentioned it to radio oncologist last Monday when it wasn't this severe, eek. I'm just taking it a day at a time still. My burnt skin is much better, thankfully. The peeled areas are trying to heal but will take a little longer. The nerve pain and tender/swollen areas are getting there but I'm on medications for those still. I commenced Tamoxifen last week.....fingers crossed for no side effects - what are the chances? ;) :) Best wishes to you and everyone, we'll get through this....x

Hi Rosetta and Tracey, I feel so rude for not having responded. I turned off notifications so didn't see I had comments, and then just kept forgetting to log in and catch up with posts.  

How did you go Tracey? If you would like Renu28 still, I can find out from my supplier how to get it.  I am now using iT on the weird armpit rashes I think are Tamoxifen- related, amongst other things!

its more than 2 months after official treatments finished and it's been an interesting time. Lots of ups and downs as I acclimatise to new reality. More ups than downs now though, I am enjoying  a MUCH simpler life and going well with my promise to myself to spend the first half of this year focusing on self care and nothing else. It's been amazing to do!

How did you fair with radiation in the end?  I kept the same film the whole time in fact - I think that's why it got SO itchy!!

Good to read that you are now healing well from your rads burns. That Moo Goo is wonderful. Moo Goo have a website that you can find via Google. The website has an area where you can locate distributors in your local area. I found a couple of chemists who supply the cream, and it's really affordable. I used it on my heels and it was great for softening my heels and preventing cracks.

Thanks Rosetta, yeah thinking ahead is hard. So much easier to do what had to be done, not so easy to grieve the old life, you know, that life where bc was someone else? ??

Tracey, I  guess what comes next is us - all of us. As much as they might try, those around us don't necessarily "get it". Those that have been & are going through this are going to understand each other. At the moment, I find it extremely difficult to think very far ahead. Not sure if & when that will return. Thinking of you & thinking of all of us ??

congratulations on finishing Rads, with the major part of your treatment finished  it must feel like you've completed a marathon! So glad your skin is now healthy and feeling good.

I have 2 rads lefts then the 5 target boosts and by the end of the week I am so sore, boob bright red and really hot - just loving wet cloths & ice packs. I googled for Renu28 but the sites I looked at required you to join as a member. Any suggestions on where I can buy it?

Been thinking a lot lately about what comes next after treatment is done. The physical healing is one thing, but how do you navigate the emotional and psychological healing after all we've been through? Will keep you in my thoughts as you learn how to enjoy life again. All the best, Tracey??
