GETTING STARTED
Hi Ladies,
Had my visit to the oncologist today, have to start Chemo on Wednesday 25/08/15, so overwhelmed, anxious, scared of what to expect, I know this is the next step in my journey to wellness...
Hi Robyn
I had my first chemo session today, I had 2 wonderful ladies with me today, my daughter in law and my besty. It made the day go so quickly, the first cycle usually takes the longest as they start you off slow to monitor for reactions etc. They give you pre medications to prevent the nasty side effects and also meds on the day. Stay calm, the staff know what they are doing and I'm sure they are all beautiful people working in this field. I am at home now and still feel great. They tell me in a couple of days things could start to decline but have given me meds to help and assure me they are just a phone call away even after hours. Definitely take someone with you if possible. Make sure you hook up with the 'Look good feel better program. I'm going on the 8th September, helps you prepare for issues with skin, hair loss etc you will encounter along the way. Sounds helpful to me . Try not to stress too much. All the very best, hope all goes smoothly, you can do this. Hugs and courageous thoughts for you
