The radiotherapy staff did warn me last week when I finished treatment that the next 1 to 2 weeks side affects from radiation could intensify. Well, what a bugger it sure did 4 days after finishing. Solugel is helping and I change the dressing about 4 times a day although I have gone to my hospital this week and the nurses have checked me out too. It happens and all we can do is give it the time to heal. I have been taking panadol and so far the pain has been manageable. My chest pain is a concern but hopefully it will be sorted out next week when I see the doctor. I wore a special bra moulded to my breasts when I had the radiation treatment so it protected areas that were not going to get radiation. I was clipped into it every time so I couldn't move and I was on my back lying on that metal bed so it's not like I may have moved and stretched nerves near my chest or rib cage.
Anyway, hopefully as the weeks go on I will heal properly but I will see the radiotherapy staff at the hospital again next week and take it from there. You are so right when you say that "everyone is different". I met so many ladies today at an all day information forum and we spoke on lots of things including treatment. It was a real eye opener.
