  • Thanks Lorraine, I will keep notes have actually started a diary which is a help, I'm finding the heartburn from meds difficult too but will talk to my oncologist and get that sorted for next time, hope all is well with you take care glynnis xx
  • Sorry to hear you had such a bad time Karen, I hope all is well with you now, it's not a nice place robe in chemo but has a means than end which I know we all understand thanks for the advice take care xx
  • I did find the the first one the worse, it took me a couple of weeks to feel myself again. I have had six rounds now and find I feel better after a week. It does get better. Do keep note of all your side effects and tell your oncologist as he/she will be able to help with some of them. Your breast care nurse is a wealth of knowledge too so have a chat to her. Gentle exercise is very important when you can manage it. I try and walk 30 minutes each day. All the best Glynnis
  • Hello Glynnis

I was sick for 6 weeks after my first 2 chemos until they changed the type of chemo I was having.  Then I would have chemo on a Thursday and would start to go downhill quite quickly on the Sunday. I would feel really lousy until the following Monday week. (9 days) according to the oncologist I had a fairly rough time of it though. Tell your oncologist every single symptom because they will be able to do something to help for the next cycle. It certainly got more bearable as it went along for me withe changes they kept making. Good luck with it all and remember that each one you have is one closer to finishing.

  • Thanks deannne, Ibe actually just had a nana nap and feel a little better it is also reassuring to know that when you feel blah there are others on here who know exactly what you mean, I am also catching up with movies I been going to watch for ages and just never got around too, hope things are good with you take care thanks for advice glynnis xx

  • Hi Glynnis

'Blah' pretty much sums it up. I think most of us find that you start to feel a bit more normal around the 7 to 10 day mark. But it can be different depending on your chemo drugs and your own individual reaction to them. A little bit of gentle exercise can help to lift your mood and help you to feel better. I also found watching comedy movies or TV helped me. I also thought that each day was definitely another day closer to feeling better (and to the end of treatment!). That one step at a time attitude is helpful I found. Hope that you feel better soon. Take care. Deanne xxx
