First chemo today

hi everyone,

finally i start my treatmeant,first round of chemo today,first of four,

was diagnosed beginning of December, IDC,grade 3,margins and lymphnode clear,so not too bad

have had lumpectomey,all healed,now to get this parf over...hoping it wont knock me about too much...

finding this site very helpful...thankyou BCNA...

  • The response is usually gradual. My advise is don't get too cocky. There may be days when you just sleep through a half of them. Keep a thermometer handy and check your temp fairly often. It put my mind at ease a lot that it wasn't a bad infection or anything it was the chemo messin with me.

    Good luck with your treatments, I'll be starting mine in a week or so after my second surgery Friday week.

    Remember though everyone is different, but you are in a good place here, lots of moral support!

    Remember to ask your team lots of questions, no matter how silly you think they are!

  • Hi Breda. Hope it all goes well for you. Remember, everyone's reaction are different. Talk to your treatment team about all side effects, regardless of how minor they seem. If they don't know about them, they can't help you with them. A mistake that I made, lol. Even if you've got some help from here, tell them what you've tried.
