First chemo TCH
Hi all, had my first TCH chemo yesterday. It went well I just had a bit reaction after 5 min with docetaxel. My face and head felt really hot and heavy pressure on chest. Told the nurse immediately a...
I had 6 rounds of TCH and finished 8 weeks ago. I found the first round was pretty easy, but it got harder with each round. I used to get it on a Friday. The first round I was back to work on the Monday. By the last round, it was Thursday before I could make it to work. I do have a fairly physically taxing job though. Nausea was managed well with meds, I just felt really tired & had flu like symptoms. I agree with the salt water mouth rinse after food. Paint your nails a dark colour, I'm losing mine now unfortunately. The best advice I can give you is to exercise as much as you can tolerate. I found it helped with fatigue & certainly got me back to feeling normal between rounds.
I also had to have Neulasta after the second round, due to febrile neutropenia & a four day hospital stay after the first. However, I never did suffer from bone pain. Lucky I guess. Hey, you've got to celebrate the small bonuses that come your way during this time!
Good luck Liana!
