Actually, 2 best things...if you have a bath, run the water as hot as is comfortable, and stay in it til it's cold. Empty, refil and repeat as required. My record bath went for 3 hours! Some people put essential oil, epsom salts or other things in the water, but I didn't need to put anything in it. It feels great.
Also, if you can find a massage recliner, they are also AWESOME - they have them in shopping centres and airports (I think they are called "Relaxation Station") ...it's like a dollar or two for 5 minutes, and sometimes that 5 minutes is all you need. My local Medicare office had 2 massage chairs out the front, and suddenly the constant trips into Medicare became a joy, not a chore!
I also used a wheat bag, either warmed or put in the freezer - depended what I wanted it for...I hadhorrendous bone pain and aches from the Neulasta injections I had to have, and these things and some Endone got me through. Hugs also work!
Good luck with it, it does end eventually! :-)
