Everolomis
Well, I am 1 week into my new treatment with Everolomis. My liver tumors were about 2.5 cm last week and have grown around 1 cm in the last month. This treatment which is new on PBS listing takes around 2-3 mths to see results. I will continue with monthly u/s of liver to monitor growth. A lot of prayer went into decision of whether to recommence chemo or trial everolomis. With the good results the trials show and info that the immosuppression component isnt as strong as in transplant treatment gave me hope my immune system wouldnt be as compromised. Weeks prior to starting the treatment my body was getting weaker and more sensitive to foods as the tumours progressed. insomnia returned but was able to improve with dietary changes.
Side effects like Mild mouth ulcers and swollen glands are starting to appear now.
I am currently on anti candida diet for approx 5-6 weeks as low grade fungal infections have been a problem long term to me and I wanted to have a go at controlling this as I launch into new treatment. I cant wait to eat raspberries again and sprouted bread and a little honey occais. Candida and fungal infections can be a problem on Everolomis.
I am trying to get back into regular exercise again.
I have started infra red sauna which is shown to be good detox for skin.
Off to the 5 day followup program at Gawler in May which should be good.
I am peace with my new section of my journey and am determined to keep looking after myself to optimise outcomes and wellbeing.
