Do I have to?????
Hi All,
I had an Autumn of AC chemo, then a winter of Taxol, and will be having a Spring of radiotherapy. I have read all the info I can about radiotherapy, and still have one question which I am hoping someone can put into really simple terms for me. Why, after having a mastectomy and axillary clearance (cancer in 4/24 nodes), then chemo,( which is a systemic (whole body) treatment to mop up stray cancer cells in the body), do I have to have radiotherapy? I don't really understand. Is it because chemo is not 100% effective? Yes I have asked my treating team, but I admit it still doesn't make sense.
Or maybe what I am really saying is "please, please, I don't want to have radio, I just read that you can get broken ribs from it and now I am really scared and anxious."
