Day 7 after chemo 2.

Day 7 after chemo 2, Thu 11th Feb. Thank goodness for pain killers as I don’t think I could survive this round without them. Some of the pain is just silly. Who wakes up in the morning with double earache, throat on fire, one eye cloudy and a body that feels like a bus ran over it? Just standing for long has me getting light headed which is scary. I think their fancy needle they gave me didn’t do much at all. At least things aren’t getting any worse and I will just have to get my strength back bit by bit. The dogs have finally figured out mums on walkies strike now and they begrudgingly go with Les and the boys for their beach walk. I am determined tomorrow is going to be better. PS ignore my rant but made me feel better.

  • I am the same Tara, never been one for painkillers but grabbing them now by gee. Good to know I am not the only one. I feel like such a woose but whatever works I will take.

  • Thanks Chris. I think next time I will talk a bit more in depth with my new GP and see if there's not some sort of pick me up injection or even high energy drink, I'll go for whatever. Not liking being flat on my back for extended periods and it doesn't even involve sex lol.

  • Brenda,

A good rant is good for us all - others in our lives may get tired of hearing how tired, achey, sore etc we are but I assure you WE understand.

I've never been one for pain killers and never really suffered very much but now - all bets are off, I take what I need when I need it and I reckon you should to by the sound of it.

Hoping tomorrow does shine brighter for you, one day at a time!

    Tara x

  • Sorry to hear you are feeling like that Brenda... rant away chemo is a bitch!!
