Day 19 after chemo

Day 19 after chemo, Tues 2nd Feb. It’s a stinker hot humid day today and I slept in. Dogs didn’t get a morning walk, nor are they really asking so they must have some sense.

The heat is stirring up my underarm area where I had surgery and I have tight cording running up my arm all the way to the wrist. A nice cool shower and some massage and exercises have settled it down for the moment. I really don’t want swelling happening in my arm so need to keep an eye on it.

I turned the fan on behind me and a flurry of hair fell out on the keyboard this morning. Since they are mostly all short grey ones I am blaming the dogs shedding lol.

I think my mental faculties are all still there although finding out I put my shorts on inside out and back to front this morning is a bit of a worry. Hey, at least I did notice!

Today is the last day at home relaxing before doctors and tests Wed and Thur and more chemo on Friday. Somewhere in there I have to clean my neglected bird cages, change the water in my fish tanks, pre-measure the fish some more food so my family can feed them for me and get some sheets and towels washed ready for another couple of weeks with me doing next to nothing.

  • Good luck and fast recovery for your surgery on Thursday. Gosh that's tomorrow already. You will be finally done waiting yay! Cool change will be sweet for me as well as my chemo starts again on Friday and it will be much nicer having my catnaps through the day then. Heres hoping both of us are boring routine patients with no unusual side affects. :)

  • Oh Brenda isnt this heat disgusting!!! it waws 28 degrees at 2.30 this morning.  Sitting here in front of the fan in shirt and undies (thank god for living on an acreage. Trying to get paperwork done before surgery thursday. Popped into see Megan at the clinic today. Isnt she just lovely! But the aircon was NOT brilliant in there.

Stay cool and relaxed, cool change coming Thursday!

  • I hear ya with the cording! Damn pain it is!

Mine is a little better than the other day, but i had to sign some documents today and got a huge "cramp" in my hand and down my wrist from holding the pen! arrrgh! had to stretch my hand out for a bit to continue...
