Day 18 after chemo

Day 18 after chemo, Monday 1st, Feb. New month, new me, I can do this. Nice steak dinner last night to get my iron levels back up and beetroot which is supposed to be good as well. I woke up with awful heartburn in the night though. I might have to get something for that as it happens quite regularly lately. I have fallen in to a morning pattern of get up, walk the dogs half an hour and back to bed for an hour. I seem quite ok after that so whatever works. Walking twice a day is really the only meaningful exercise I get so I want to keep at it as long as I can, even if I do have to have a little sit down in the middle of it. My hair is still dropping out but only a little bit now so the bit of thin stuff I have might stay a few weeks more I hope. It doesn’t look too bad to a blind man on a galloping horse lol.

  • I think my friend has pinpointed my trouble, the cucumber I thought was burpless is apparently not so no more eating that one at night.

  • Hi Brenda I've been watching your posts.  Having just finished 5 odd months of chemo my recommendation is to try and keep walking when that got to hard for me due to nerve damage I started baby steps in our pool that gave me more strength. I got a lot of heartburn as well so I ate good food when I could stomach it mainly heaps at breaky and lunch.  Some days I ate loads of Greek yogurt, for some reason I couldn't stomach steak I did and still find that some exercise helps me mentally so much keep up the good work looking forward to seeing your last day of chemo I hated the highs and lows from steroids but I got to end of chemo xx

  • Hi Brenda,

It's great to read that you are keeping the walking up :)
