Complete Pathological Response
I had my mastectomy last week after 5 months and 16 rounds of chemo. Best news ever was that the cancer had been completely killed.
Started with 9 tumors ranging from 5cm to 2cm and two lymph node...
Unbelievable news! Had my mastectomy and full axillary clearance on Wednesday (12th). I have been dreading it as I had my chemo first and have had 4 months to think about my surgery and the emotional ramifications: good and bad. In the past months I have shed quite a few tears. Funnily enough I have not cried once since surgery!
The surgeon called yesterday. I have had complete pathological response - no cancer found in breast or nodes. My original tumor was 8.7cm!
My surgeon is still recommending radiation which will probably start in a few weeks.
Thank god for these websites that keep us positive. I have three small children and will not stop fighting for them!
