Thanks, Chrissk :)) I'm thinking we all go through something like this at some stage - so be prepared! As much as possible I try to use humour, but I'm thinking I was pretty short on the humour last Thursday and most definitely not something I will forget in a hurry!
My chemo is a mixture of Docetaxel (taxotere) and Cyclophosphamide - and I take the Dexamethasone the day before, day of and the day after to counter the worst of the nausea and diarrhoea. Oh, and I had to have the needle for the white cells yesterday at my GPs. So all is done and dusted. "Phew"
So far, I've had no call to be put into hospital. (Touch wood) But I've pretty much made sure I haven't gone anywhere but the hospital and docs (and I consider them the most dangerous places of all surrounded as you are by very ill people!) I also make sure I have little or any contact with children with so many irresponsible parents not immunising their children. The only downside to doing this is cabin fever and I am withdrawal not seeing anything of my grandson! lol
BUT I can eat again!! I have my taste buds nearly back in control wooooo hoooooo
