Chemo round 1

Blugh. Glad I ate before the treatment! This is day 4 and I'm still a bit nervous about pushing it in case the spews start again. The trick is to get the maxalon in your belly before the nausea starts, I know now!

My poor family are all miserable with bad head colds, are mightily sick and tired of me telling them to wash their hands, and that I have no idea what's for dinner!

We will get through this!

  • I used to get up and take the nausea meds then go back to bed for an hour. In the end stemitil and ondasetron worked better for me. My husband was designated cook the week of chemo. I used to burn everything.

  • Hehehe I remember the first thing I did when I got out of bed in the morning was swallow the anti nausea meds.

Get your family to take strepsils antibacterial lozenges. You may not yet be able to take it as your nausea and mouth condition might not agree with you but the family can and it might just stave off you contracting it. I wish I would have sat on my hubby and made him take more of them as I wouldn't still be battling this cold a month and two lots of antibiotics later.

  • You definitely will get through it and foe the initial 5 days just take the antinausea meds religiously pre meals...

I had gone of cooking the 1st round and just lived ofdmf whatever I had craving for at the time (found that avocado on toast, toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches and fried eggs with tomatoes and toast kept on making an aopearance as they never made me sick... as did good old chicken soup - never made me pukey...)

A bit of a worry everyone in the family is sick... I hope you immunity does not go down on your regime as you really do not need a headcold...

    All the best
