Chemo nightmare

I dont know what other people's experience with chemo was but i found it horrible, every bone ached in my body, every chemo session sent me to hospital shortly after for a number of days, i had rashes, i could literally taste and feel  the poison running through my body, in fact thats all i could really taste for 9 months, i had blisters in my mouth and my teeth copped a beating, i created new best friends - the lounge and a blanket where i spent most of my time. the mix of chemo had to be adjusted and the oncologist would say well its trial and error and i would think that just doesn't help,  i felt like it would never end but of course it did and im still here so thats all that matters and i would say to  anyone feeling these symptoms to just hang in there it will end. Its amazing how quickly your body does bounce back, i felt better almost straight away after my last chemo session and celebrated with a big cry and a nice meal.

Next to come was radiation, thats another story...........

  • Hi Dianne,

I am so sorry to hear that you had such a hard time going through chemotheraphy.

Today will be my first one.  What you said right at the end was very inspiring for me, and it is so good to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck with everything that is hapening to you.

    Love donna
