Hi everyone. I thought i would give you a heads up about my chemo today. Firstly i did kick its butt after the 1st hour. The 1st hour was the hardest as i chose the cold cap. I had snug warm blankets but oh my head killed. Had Panadol and then had some drug adavan oj I cannot remember. Once i had that i was fine. Went to the toilet alot with all the fluids. At home im ok. Headache and a bit nauseas. Love to you all xxTRIKKI2

@Trikki2 it’s great you have got through your first round. It means you’re well on the way to kicking breast cancer right in the balls. Well done. Be kind to yourself delegate if needed accept help if it’s offered. Trust me people only offer if they want too. You will see who you’re true friends are and might be surprised by those who you don’t expect to step up and give you a hand will and sometimes those you exepect too are full of shit and don’t. If that happens don’t take it personally. They just don’t know how to deal with it and that’s ok. Big hug. Margie xxx

And take the stemital or what ever you have been given for nausea. You might have to change that around too until you find which med works for you. Try some soda water today, it can give you enough gas to have a gentle belch which can help with that sick feeling. Yeah, I know, gross, but lots of this stuff is revolting. Mxx

So awesome @Trikki2 - you sound like you’re slaying this big time! Just re: drinking water. I went from a 2litre a day guzzler to not being able to drink water at all because I can’t bear the taste of it! So I’ve been experimenting with lots of things. Pieces of lemon or lime help a bit but I’ve finally succumbed to a drop of lemon barley or lime juice cordial. I was trying to avoid the sugar but I’ve found that literally a few drops is enough to make a difference and the fact that I can now drink water easily is probably of more benefit than a bit of sugar! Yes same every 3 weeks.. 8th oct finish date. I have been doing EFT a tapping technique. It helps. Keep breathing. All the best.

Just getting ready for chemo, getting teeth looked after, booked appointment with surgeon for Portacath consult, will have to wait again for that, so decided to have first treatment through peripheral vein, I want to get it started, but have no date yet. It is going to take 4 and a half months, every three weeks treatment. Hmmm it is a long trip or long drip! I liken the treatment to a journey, at present I am still packing bags, booking seats, thinking of books to read and things to do along the way. In between deep breathing, 3 seconds in, 3 seconds out, repeat for 3 minutes. This is part of a wellbeing course I am doing at the moment, and has helped me already at the dentist today. It works even if done just a few times whatever is convenient in a situation. All the best for everybody!

You'll feel pretty good by the end of the 28 days I'd imagine! Love the idea of you picking up an old hobby. Do post a masterpiece here if you'd like. There's a discussion here called "Creative Corner" which is delightful. K xox

@Trikki2, have a good day at a time, my second chemo has been put back to 28 days instead of 21 to coincide with professor that comes to regional center once a month, so will take a bit longer but he makes me confident about this crappy journey, xx

Thanks @kmakm so far so good, although it is only the beginning have my pain meds, and doing my own personal experiment mind over matter lol, have the list of side effects they give you and have written " f##k that" next to most of them I'll keep everyone posted how that goes lol, also got the paints out again after many years, so the plan is to just get through this day by day, don't really know what else to do.

Well done @jmichelle. Don't be too nervous about the bone pain. Mine grew in severity as TC went along, but as long as you're prepared with the appropriate pain killers you should be OK. K xox
