Hi Kazza, glad to hear that your infection is finally settling down. You've certainly had it tough but hopefully things will improve for you now.
It sounds as though you're doing the right thing talking to a pharmacist oncologist (I didn't even know there was such a thing! lol) about your various questions and I hope they give you some answers and peace of mind.
I was on Tamoxifen for 2 and a half years before I was switched to Arimidex but am back on Tamoxifen due to some concerns that I may not actually be post-menopausal as it was thought. Anyway, just wanted to say that my first stint on Tamoxifen did give me hot flushes, joint pain and night sweats and although these effects were really extremely annoying, there were ways to manage it such as the magnesium supplements, exercise, keeping hydrated and I also switched from taking the tablet in the morning to just before I went to bed, and this seemed to help for some odd reason. As I said I'm back on Tamoxifen and the effects are now very mild. Just make sure that if you are getting any side effects that you let your oncologist know as there are usually ways to alleviate them.
Best wishes and here's hoping this next phase will be much less eventful for you. Take care, Jane xx
