Yes, I missed taste too. I mainly ate only what I could taste which was pumpkin soup (home made) quiche and eggs. I made a roast dinner one night and was salivating over the smell, looking forward to eating it and then not being able to taste a thing. Isn't it awful! At least you know it comes back I suppose. But the steroids I was on also gave a funny taste in the mouth and I was rinsing my mouth out with bi carb soda after every meal which didn't help lol!
