If you like watching tv shows and movies then an tablet is a good idea. You can watch Netflix, Stan etc on it if you have an account. Magazines rather than books can be a good idea if you'd rather turn some pages. Most people find the concentration required for a book a bit beyond them. Music, meditation, podcasts, radio are all good. It all depends on your tastes. I was on a different chemo and was allergic to it so I was dosed up on Phenergan each time. I texted with friends until it hit me and put me to sleep. The nurses pulled a curtain round me and woke me up when the chemo was finished! Initially my sessions were six and a half hours because I had the cold cap but when I gave up on that they dropped to 3 - 3.5. I never asked anyone to come with me; too much of a time soak. Do what you think you'd like and take it from there. I'd strongly suggest for the first one at least that you have someone drive you and pick you up. After that you'll know what you're capable of. When do you start?
