Hi Kb,
It's good to hear from you. I hope you're feeling better. The side effects of chemo really suck. My last one was nearly 6 weeks ago and I'm still feeling some of the side effects from chemo. I keep wondering how long the effects will last. I still have the problem with my clots and my tongue feeling weird. On a positive note my hair is starting to grow back, looks like chicken fluff at the moment. :)
Anyway I've had 2 weeks of radiation (2more weeks to go) and doing ok with it. My breast is a little bit red and tender to touch and I'm getting really tired. I was told the tiredness came at the end but for me I'm feeling it now. I don't seem to have the energy to do things. I'm ok in the morning but by the afternoon I need to sit and relax, sometimes I have a nap, which isn't like me.
I spoke to the nurse last week and she asked me if I was working during treatment and I said "no". she was quite happy with that response because she said that people don't realise how tired radiation can make you feel. So I guess I'm having a normal reaction with radiation.
I try to keep positive and count down the days for my treatment to finish. Once my treatment comes to an end then my physical and mental healing can begin. This whole journey so far has been so mentally and physically exhausting and challenging. I'm am so tired of it all.
I know how bad the side effects of chemo can be because like you I seemed to have gotten most of them too. I really hope everything goes well for you. Let me know how you go.
Take care!
