another pre chemo visit

12/1/16

A second pre chemo visit to the cancer debt building and an introductory tour on what goes on, what to expect on Friday when I have chemo and some steroids given to commence taking on Thursday.

When I got home there was a lovely bunch of carnation flowers. As it turns out who we call the poodle people who walk their tiny dogs on the beach had dropped them in. They didn’t even know our names but cared enough to leave some flowers. Lyn and Warren their names are as they called in the next day to see how I was going.

You don’t think the stress is affecting you and everyone was really nice but that night I weighed myself twice and I had dropped 2kg from 78 down to 76. The next day my pants seemed very loose and I have dropped another kg down to 75. I haven’t eaten any differently or done any extra exercise.

  • Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I know everything should be a breeze but its a new thing and you never know what's its really like till you try it. I just wish this first dose didn't take hours. Pre chemo Dexamethasone tabs I am taking is giving me dizzy spells. It was a bit alarming while I was having my last shopping centre hurrah yesterday. Blimey what's the chemo drugs going to do? I know, I'm a sook lol.

  • Hey Brenda how lovely is that I found on this journey some of the gestures from strangers and people I hadn't been in contact with have been inspiring xxx you'll be fine it's tough but good much love xx we are here for you

  • Hi Brenda, just wishing you all the best for tomorrow. That was such a lovely gesture from Lyn and Warren! Despite all the crap around BC, one of the positive things can be the help and support given by others (often from unexpected quarters!) Hope all goes well for your chemo treatment. Jane xx
