Another First Timer
Hi there, I was diagnosed with a small breast cancer last week and am having a guide-wire lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy this Wednesday, to be followed by radiation treatment later.
I'd just like to say how helpful it is reading the posts on this site and how friendly and supportive of each other everyone is.
Best wishes,
Ann

Hi Berrie, thanks for writing to me. Yes, I'm a no tattoo sort of person, too but I think a radio one would be a badge of honour! Keep in touch and let me know how the radio goes. Hugs to you, too. Ann

Hi Karen,
Yes, I got my "My Journey Kit" the day before my operation and found it a great read the night before. The operation went well and I'm in no pain, which is great. Now just waiting to get the results on Tuesday, 4th August.
Thanks for your message,
Ann

hi Anne, I am about 3 weeks ahead of you, really hope you get the same good results that I got. I start radio next Monday is planning day when I get a tat, my daughter laughs as I always said I would never have a tattoo, and then Tuesday starts the radio for nearly 5 weeks. Hugs in Space xx from Berrie

Hi Anna,
Welcome to the network. You'll find it really informative and supportive. No question or venting is considered irrelevant! You'll find people at all stages of treatment giving wonderful support and advice.
It certainly is a roller coaster ride in the early days. Have you received your 'my journey kit' from bcna? I found it a source of support.
Be kind to yourself in the early days.
Karen xx

Thanks, Dianne. It has been a whirlwind so far. It's great to have so many kindred spirits to share their experiences.

Hi Anna, I had a similar experience with my diagnosis in 2008, you will have a few up days and a few down days, take care of yourself and you will get through, when you find thing getting tough take a deep breath and try to relax as much as possible, Dianne
