A little ritual

My youngest son (age 10) and I have a little ritual when I come home from chemo. I stick my wrist out and he goes "aww, Mum again?". I say "Yes Sam, it's your job" With that he either rips or cuts off my hospital wrist tag. Doesn't matter what time I get home, it's not taken off until Sam gets a chance to do it.

  • Yes Taxol is easier than AC, I had no nausea or heartburn whatsoever. It's not until about no. 7 that I found it to be a struggle. Right now I'm still in bed, feeling v. tired. The weekly as opposed to every third week got to be a drag too. However its finished yay! Best of luck with the Taxol. Cheers Cheryle :)

  • Well done Cheryle,I start Taxol on the 8th July. I finished my AC last week, still recovering. I'm really hoping I have an easier time with this next lot of chemo.
  • Hospital tag no. 12 and hopefully the last one. Sam was onto it right smart, cut it off for me. The freddo frog was his reward. Cheryle :)

  • Thanks Vanessa, it makes me feel like I'm free! Of hospital and Sam feels included. One of the girls at chemo was keeping the bandages they wrapped her arm in after the iv was taken out. She wasn't sure what she was going to do with them, but she kept them. Cheers Cheryle :)
  • That's a lovely thing to do. Maybe I should think of something to do with my daughter, she is 4 my other is only 20 months so she is a bit young.Vanessa x
  • Thanks Narelle, my other one on chemo day is I like to have a cappuccino from the hospital cafe (surprisingly good) and my husband, Simon, likes to have a pocket of snakes. Regards Cheryle :)
