4 weeks post lumpectomy

Hi All,

I've just joined the Network although I had my surgery almost 4 weeks ago.

I was diagnosed with tubular carinoma almost 5 weeks ago and feel grateful that after the lumpectomy and removal of the sentinel node, I got the all clear.

I've been tattooed and start radiation in 2 weeks time.  I'm still getting some pain every now and again as well as tiring very easily....Is this normal??

I honestly thought that I would be back to my normal self by now and getting myself mentally prepared for my radiation.

Thanks!!

  • Thanks Bobbie,

It's reassuring that what I'm feeling is normal.  I know that I may need to push myself a bit, but I've also been told to listen to my body.

I'm due to have 25 sessions of radiation and am hoping that I will be able to continue working (I work part time) and have my radiation outside of my working hours. My boss is really flexible and is ready to adjust my hours if I need to but once again, I'm just going to listen to my body and see how it goes. :)
