Thank you for including me. :)

Hello everyone. :) This is all very new and I'm feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed. I am 43 and have three children (8, 6 & 3). I have had multiple fibroadenomas for many years, the first diagnosed when I was around 17/18. Most of those reduced in size during my pregnancies and breast feeding. A new one popped up last year and was diagnosed as another fibroadenoma but has grown steadily since then and now feels quite different to the others. Just this afternoon I saw my GP for a report on the mammogram and core biopsies taken at the end of last week. That biopsy confirms PT, which I had never heard of until a few days ago. One 4.2cm benign to borderline PT. I have been referred to a specialist at a private clinic in Nambour, since I live near Noosa. I look forward to reading your stories and sharing our thoughts on this current journey. Oh...one 'little' question...Is it "cancer"? If the tumor is benign, is it still cancer? Nicole

  • Great news Nicole. Glad it was benign and glad she is keeping an eye on you too. Best wishes for healing well and no reoccurence. Keep in touch and have a great Xmas. Cheers Katie. Xx
  • Hi Katie. Well, I am almost two weeks post-op and recovering well. :) My pathology came back as benign. :) My surgeon has said no further treatment needed. She will just keep an eye on me for two years. Fingers crossed for no recurrences. :) I hope you are doing well. Nicole xx
  • Hi Katie. Thank you so much for your reply. :) I saw a surgeon on Wednesday, Dr Lisa Creighton at Buderim Private. She is confident that all will be well after I have this lump out! I am booked in for surgery next week...aiming for nice wide, clear margins. Fingers crossed. Nicole
