I am 6 weeks on from a complete left masectomy for a non invavsive 9cm tumour. I dont need chemo or radio but really am very unsure about Tamoxifen. I have no family history and am really concerned about the potential side effects of this therapy. Can anyone give me the low down on the side effects. I am 44, no children, with cysts, fibroids and endo that still needs to be dealt with.
I would love to hear from anyone about these therapies and their side effects
Hi Minnieme, I was on Tamoxafin for 12 months and apart from the hot flushes (possibly- chemo possibly- tamoxafin) as I was meant to be in menopause but no other side effects. Unfortunately I wasnt in menopause and started a period which i hadnt had for 18 months!! so had to have a full hystorectomy and am now on Arimodex. Don't stress too much, I know we are all different but I had no problems and wish the same for you if you choose to go ahead with Tamoxafin, thinking of youand good luck, Kaz
