I am so sorry to read what you have had to go through.I can't imagine doing all the treatments without the support of my husband, family and friends. My husband was my rock and never left my side, drove me everywhere etc.But we have been married 33yrs and have a terrific, loving relationship- cancer only made our bond stronger. Now I think if you already had relationship problems then having cancer might just put a further strain on it. There are a few ladies on this site whose relationships were abit rocky but then broke up after their diagnosis. So you are not alone. You deserve to be treated alot better.I hope you are with family or good friends at this time cos that's where you need to be.You should be surrounded with love and support. To stay bitter and angry will not be good for your health. However,it is good to vent and get it out and be heard. It can be very therapautic and this is a wonderful site to do that and feel supported. You need to nurture yourself now, find activities and people that help with that.I think you are amazing to have come through all that you have and although you are feeling betrayed, you should also feel proud of yourself too.You must be one strong, gutsy woman.

I do know how to put this, he is shite. No excuses and not one single apology but he seems like he was this wayu to start with.
I am sorry you have had to go through this but he was never going to be honest with you and stay throughout your treatment.
Some men suck the life out of you and some give you the oxygen to keep breathing.
Make sure it is you who decides who puts the oxygen into your lungs.
You are special and need specialist treatment whether it be by the medical team, family, friends, co-workers or men.
Be good to yourself

Hi Tonya,
Thank you, give your man a big kiss and hug, for you should be so proud of him being your rock. If only more men had those qualities! I am so incredibly hurt and angry by my ex's actions. Yes I do need to nurture myself but I feel that the rug has just been totally pulled out from under me. The cancer has only put a strain on my relationship from the fact that I needed his reassurances and help and it just brought things to a head much quicker. It certainly lets you know who is truly there for you and who just says the words.
Part of the issue as well is that once you have finished the Chemotherapy, some people seem to think that's it that you are instantly rejuvinated. Which is certainly not the case.
In my case the saying that whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger - is certainly true. It however also reinforces your mistrust in people, as you had to come through it with limited or without at all the support from the people who indicated that they understood you were going through a huge life changing issue.
Thanks
Veronica

Hi Cheryl,
Thank you, some men step up and others run and hide when needed.
