Is someone twisting my ovaries?

Just wondering if anyone out there has experienced, not only a delay in reaction from radiation treatment, but my skin where I had radiation and drain site get very sore and often even sting. A hardening of the skin just below my surgery scar area is red and hard. I finished radiation at the end of June and my skin did not break down until the last treatment.

I have been back to my surgeon and he has brought the scheduled mammogram, ultrasound and chest scan forward for piece of mind from November to next week.

Also, I am not sure if it is the Tamoxafin or not but I feel rather sore & bloated and think it may be my ovaries that have swollen. Has anyone else had this problem?

  • i am 18months from finishing treatment, all through treatment i was fine, and like you after 6 weeks radiotherapy it did break down, but a few weeks and i was fine, i cant comment on the Tamoxafin, as i am on Arimidex, so hopefully someone on here can answer your questions, Hope all goes well next week, keep in touch and let us know.

  • Thanks for your lovely reply. I hope you are doing well.

I am sure all will be fine but will certainly stay in touch. Off to Melbourne to meet my new nephew this weekend so the boys and I are looking forward to that.....

I left a message for my oncologist yesterday morning to ask her if these things are normal, and am yet to hear back, the ovary swelling was listed in the "Rare" category, but I also have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome so am likely to have a reaction I guess. I am very tired also, so thought it best to get it checked out. My body will eventually get the picture that I am on these tabs for 5 years and come to terms with it :o)

    Take care and thanks again.

  • I spend alot of time online as have a website etc. nice time to chat also....

I am having a few twinges here and there which I am sure is normal, but worth checking it out, and if nothing else I can have my tests next week and forget about it all until Feb next year! Piece of mind is huge....

It sounds like you are working hard, so thanks on behalf of the newbies that you are out there promoting awareness. It can be a little overwhelming. BCNA is brilliant....

I hope you have a nice weekend too. Jackie.
