Ca 125 test

Hi all - after finding a lump in my armpit I have gone to see a GP (not my usual one) to get a referral for an ultrasound. I was given the ultrasound referral and blood test referral (including for Ca125 which I don’t think I have been tested for before). Has anyone else had this Ca125 test before?
My background in HR positive breast cancer; lumpectomies and double mastectomy (with immediate reconstruction)

@Beginner thats one for your GP to answer My oncologist does a ca15 request which is the marker that was elevated with my original breast cancer was diagnosed then and again when I developed mets to the bone. Nothing has ever been mentioned to me so far about ca125. When do you get your results

Thank you for your reply. I will have the blood test tomorrow and the ultrasound in a week and a half. Yes, I am curious about the test as googling it indicated it was used for ovarian cancer. I will see what the results are soon I guess

@Beginner how did you go with the blood test and ultrasound. Curious as to why Dr requested that particular test.

Thanks for your query. I haven’t been back to the gp yet but the sonographer told me there is no lump under my arm and the tenderness has now gone. I will make an appointment this coming week for the formal ultrasound results and blood test results

I confess I didn’t go back to the gp for the results but looked them up on My Health Record. Everything was in the normal range and the ultrasound did not detect any lumps, so that is good news. Still unsure why that test was ordered
