Potential liver issue

Triple positive
Radiation and chemo AC and paclitaxol completed by March 2024
Lumpectomy Feb
Early stage

On letrozole, zoladex and finishing of my 17th cycle end November of Herceptin.

Also taking 5mg of cholesterol tabs.

Gp rwq blood to monitor the cholesterol tabs and if they working. Liver issue picked up. Oncologist req abdomen scan.

Been feeling ok but for the last two days terrible nausea after eating. Headaches (which I never get) fatigue (which has also been ok)

Has anyone been through something similar, what was the outcome?
Look forward to hearing from you x

All the best with your scans @cheri xx

Are you taking any anti inflammatory/pain killer meds at all?  I had major liver issues with anti inflammatory meds 10 years ago after a nasty hip injury (that I was put on, long term.) They nearly caused me liver failure  :(
Mine went thru the roof tho, not dropped.

    Take care

@Tri and @arpie I love and appreciate you guys and this forum. It has been an immense help and soothing go to through my journey. I have never really been one to have headaches or take tablets but since my diagnosis have had to get used to it. And yes since I have been having the headaches and dizziness I have taken panadol and mersofyn which I will stop now based on the feedback and makes sense that it has probably been making the symptoms work. Thanks ladies have a blessed day x

Hi @arpie that’s a handy reminder to think about with liver function thanks for your note!
I am not taking anti inflammatories specifically but yes, for a period of time my feet (neuropathy) and ankle joints were pretty sore so I was taking more Nuromol than I normally would- it has ibuprofen in it and that is an anti inflammatory.
You have a great day too @Cheri and hope your headaches and nausea resolve quickly and the scan goes smoothly ❤️🌸

    Hi @cheri
reporting back- well I saw the oncologist today and I’m sorry to report that having a 5-6 week “holiday” from Letrozole hasn’t materially improved my liver function test results or my cholesterol.
I do feel terrific though- could just be the holiday! And it was, however, very interesting to have been able to try the break and see if it would make a difference :-)

@Tri thanks for the update. Glad your feeling great. I am also feeling better, it's been a week of the meds for me. Will go back on when I'm feeling hundreds. My oncologist is not concern about my reports. All the best to you on your break from the meds. Have a great evening x

    Hi @Cheri
just an update for you that my liver numbers are moving in a trajectory towards “normal” hooray 🥳
I thought you might be interested as you’ve just finished your treatment, and to let you know that it took (in my case) about 6 months after my final Kadcyla/Herceptin for the GGT liver number to start coming down (it was much higher than it had ever been).
I see you’re on cholesterol tablets too - whilst I am not - there had been talk of starting on them because my cholesterol had also gone up more than it had and was hovering there but it too is coming back down (without taking medication).
What has changed is my activity levels, as my stamina has improved I have been significantly more active (walking, swimming, garden jobs) and also rebalanced the menu.
It’s encouraging to see the numbers heading towards their desired direction.
Good luck with your efforts and medication pause. 🌺🌸🌻
