- akpvjMemberHi i have been doing a search for above and saw your post, was wondering what treatment you were on please and hoping you are well
- cactuskMemberYes - i am Er+/PR+ / HER2-
just had lumpectomy, waiting for pathology on margins & 2 sentinel nodes. Then have to decide on $$$ onchotype test. How are you doing? - Julez1958MemberHi @MMAN
Your type of cancer ( hormone positive) is the most common and particularly so in post menopausal women.
It means there are more treatment options including hormone therapy.
I am not a great technical whizz but there should be some resources on this website on the three main types of breast cancer - hormone positive , HER 2 positive , and triple negative.
Take care - I found the emotional aspects of a breast cancer diagnosis as challenging as the physical - if the many wonderful resources in this website I found the Dr Charlotte Tottman podcasts excellent . - GorgySMemberMine is the same, ER+, PR- and HER2 negative. I could not find much information on PR being negative except that any of these hormones ER+ or PR + are considered as a Hormone positive breast cancer. Still a little bit confused but I will find an answer from the medical oncologist that I will be seeing in 10 days. Just want to know what PR - means in my case.
- cactuskMemberPR- is progesterone negative
- GorgySMemberI know but wondering what its impact on treatment and prognoses is. Thanks anyway
- akpvjMemberHave had genomic testing and on inavo 121 trial for pik3ca and feeling hopeful after progressions
- J-NoldMemberHi, I was told by Oncologist that it’s better to have both ER+ and PR + as the breast cancer is still behaving like breast tissue so will respond to hormone therapy. It’s good prognostic factor! But the hormone therapy is a bit rubbish.I have exactly the same hormone status as you.
Also waiting for Oncotype DX testing.
