I have just been diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer & trying to come to terms with everything. Starting my first round of Chemo this coming Wednesday & feeling overwhelmed. Hopping to hear positive feedback from others who have been or are going through the same experience.

Hi @Lizmoore, I'm sorry you need to be here but you'll find lots of support, and caring people
Are you aware that there is a private group called Living With Metastatic Breast Cancer. You can request to join
Of recent times I've read of women living for many years with metastatic BC.
Do you have supportive family and friends around you? Whilst they won't "get it" they will want to be there for you.
It's a big diagnosis to get your head around. Thinking of you2 -
Thank you for your support irb_O3.
I am so blessed to be surround by my beautiful family and friends, there support has been amazing.
I have tried to join the private group Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer but have had no response. I would really love to join the group and read how others cope in this situation.0 -

Hello @Lizmoore,
my name is wendy and like you I have mets, I am coming up to my 8th year in June, of course you are overwhelmed that is entirely natural, you have so much information to absorb, slowly slowly, even though you want to start treatment yesterday,
in the living with metastatic cancer group, you will find a lot of posts about how we deal with this on a day to day week to week basis,so pleased that you have a beautiful family support network, I do not know where you are in this great country of ours but you should be able to access a lot of help, I wont go into a lot as there is way too much, at the moment just concentrate on you and as the days pass you will be able to concentrate a bit better, I believe that bcna have a book called hope and hurdles, its about living with mets, just ring the 1800 number and ask for a copy, its also on line but I believe its better if you can just sit down and read it quietly on your own, one step at a time, go to the lving with mets group and tell us a little about yourself, and that way we can help support you, you are not alone we are all here to help you, be gentle on yourself and believe it or not just breathe, you will be back in control of things soon and I am sure your medical team have a treatment plan worked out for you, at the moment the only advice I would offer is to always have a pad and pen handy and ask as many questions as you want, it helps to have a support person with you at your appointments chemo etc,
Please go to our site and ask anything you want,

Thank you Wendy55 for your beautiful and kind words, yes definitely a lot to take in at the moment but I have the determination to fight this with all I have.
Staring my first round of Chemo tomorrow so starting to feel nervous, it’s the fear of the unknown.
I live in beautiful Camden NSW and we are surrounded by so many support networks.
