travelling well and managing with the COVID-19 restrictions currently in place in
your state or territory. If you are

Fulvestrant
(Faslodex) a step closer to being added to the PBS
BCNA is pleased to advise that Fulvestrant
(Faslodex) has been recommended for the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
for treatment of hormone receptor positive metastatic breast cancer.
This is yet another example of the
power of our network and the importance of consumers having a voice to ensure
the best treatment is delivered to all, not just those who can afford it. Read

Cancer Support Referral from Cancer Council
Health professionals can now refer
patients to Cancer Council’s nurses who provide information and support to
people affected by cancer. All they
need to do is fill in this support
form and one of the cancer nurses from
Cancer Council will contact you to see what support you may require.
Support includes financial &
legal, emotional and psychosocial support, peer support, wig service, holiday
break program or general cancer information by an oncology nurse.
With regards to the emotional and
psychosocial support, you may be able to access five sessions of
counselling. To access this service you
can call the helpline directly on 13 11 20 during the hours of Monday to Friday
from 9 am to 5 pm (cost of a local call).
Fundraising Update
Pink Bun
This
year is the 20th anniversary of Bakers Delight’s partnership with Breast Cancer
Network Australia (BCNA) and what a year it’s been so far!
We
would like you to celebrate with us as hundreds of Bakers Delight bakeries in
countless locations across the country turn pink for the annual Pink Bun
campaign in support of Australians affected by breast cancer.
From 8 October - 28
October 2020 every bakery will generously donate 100
per cent of the sale of the iconic pink bun to BCNA.

BCNA Face Masks still available
Breast Cancer Network Australia face
masks are still available for a limited time, pre-order period is until September 14.
As we embrace our 'new normal' of wearing
face masks (currently mandatory in Victoria) BCNA has received many requests
from both members and partners wishing to purchase pink BCNA face masks to
visually support all Australians affected by breast cancer. The BCNA masks are
a one size fits most, triple layer, washable fabric face mask with filter
included and fully adjustable elastic strapping for $15 each.
