Exercise Bra
Hi Everyone. I have not blogged before so not quite sure what I am doing. I have just had silicon implants put in and I have been told that when I begin exercising again to use a very supportive bra. I had a double mastectomy and love to run, ride, kayak etc but concerned that if the new boobs aren't held in place enough they could move.
Has anyone else found some really good bra's to hold the implants in the correct place.

Hi Jennifer,
I had a double mastectomy in May, got my silicon 9th of August. I have found the Ahh Bras to be wonderful, I have been jogging in them since about a week and a half since my last op. I find enough support with just one on, but you can wear two at a time for a bit of extra support if you feel you need it. They come in packs of 3 (beige, black and white or pink, aqua blue and lilac......the lilac looks like a rose pink though). If you have not already seen them advertised you just order your t-shirt size. When I got them it was $109 (that included postage) if you buy more than one pack at a time they usually offer discount on the additional ones. Phone number to order them is 1800 522 522. Hope this info is helpful
Take care
regards
Kim

Hi Jennifer
I had a double mastecomy andhad silcione implants put in last week and I too am an AHH Bra Fan. I am yet to exercise in them (as waiting for the all clear from my specialist) but they are so comfortable as they don't have any seams.
All the best, and take care of you

A nurse told me they have specialists at Myer to help women who've had a mastectomy find suitable bras. She suggested ringing first to find out when someone would be there.

I would not recommend Myer's. they are very short staffed & not trained properly, especially for people who have been thru breast cancer.
I went to an bra information day for breast cancer survivors about a month ago and there are places around that specialise in breast cancer support. ladies who have had breast cancer get trained and fit u for a proper bra, lingerie and even bathers. one problem i have is 1 breast is slightly a diff size and shape than the other ( i have not finished my reconstruction yet) so i find it really hard to have one fitted thats comfy as.
as mentioned above the arrr bra and others like it are what i have found the best. but if u want to get fitted properly google for ur local store.
I am in melbourne and there is a fantastic one in Camberwell, if u are local. or look at this site

maybe u can find a shop near u

thanks for your response. I have decided to ring and order a set of Ah bra's and will be doing that today. I live in Adelaide and I too have different shaped implants. One sits a little higher and I have been shown to press it down a little. Funny thing is, the boob that had the cancer is a fantastic shape. It is the boob that I had removed, just to make sure, that is a bit odd. I had my reconstruction only 4 weeks ago so my shapes are also not set yet.

Thank you for your reply. I will begin with the Ah Bra and then if that isn't good I will try the Triathlon Sports top. Glad to read that so many women are still out there exercising and getting back to normal.

Hi Girls,
thank you heaps for all your advice. I will give the Ah bra a go and then let you know what I think. Best thing for me is I have gone from a DD/E cup down to size C. Some of my clothes gape now but I guess it is a good excuse to get some new ones!
Regards
Jenn
