Triple negative breast cancer

Hi girls. I was searching triple negative bc and surprised to find so little here apart from you 2 :) I'm much older (granny) but interested to see what lies ahead for triple neg ladies such as us? I've no history of bc, but found my vigorous growth after routine scans missed it twice(according to surgeon) :(  Had mastectomy and many lymph nodes taken as was there too . Just had final chemo last week and can't wait for cocktail effects to pass, I didn't think I would last the distance but Dr cut cocktail by 20% so managed a little better this week. will begin RT early Jan. I am at Sydney and I have finished my second chemo last year oct 2013

This time I had mastectomy and chemo, but 10 years ago lumoectomy and chemo and radiation.

Now I am concerning to hv mastec for other breast and at the same time bilateral reconds.

Yes we are very similar situation Julia

Are you also genetic bc?

Hi Tina, Hope everything is going well for you. I was diagnosed at 26 yrs old with triple negative had chemo and radio then had genetic test and have brac1. 12.5 years later MRI picked up another lump on other side, had lumpectomy now about to start TC chemo, and then will have dble mastectomy and Dep recon. I am now 39 years old. How did ev go for you as we are very similar? Lots of hugs Julia

Hi ladies I am new member in the triple neg bc.

I was diagnose 2003 and finished all lumpectomy chemo and radiation.

all was so good and I life happy. Until 2013 I found big lump on the same brest

then I had mastectomy and chemo.

During chemo my dr told me to check the genetic test, and they found me with the brca1.

Now I am looking forward having mastectomy and the same time reconstruction, I just cant wait to have it all done.

But my question is anybody there in the same boat as me?

The phatology report said T3 Nx  Mx I am very concern with this number.

Please..ladies if anyone of you have the same story..pls I need support.

Hi girls good to hear from you. Not sure exactly what the medication is called, my hubby thinks Zeloda???? I will find out. Definately a tablet, you can have twice a day or 2 weeks on two off. Its not to do with hormone blocking as my cancer is not hormane receptive.

 

To add to the mix, when I was first diagnosed in 2009 I was 22 weeks pregnant and had to make some big decisions around treatment for me and protecting baby, nightmare, but hes 1 and a half now and fine, I am an early intervention teacher so I am keeping a close eye on his development. If there is anyone out there in a similar situation, i would be hayy to help, i had some great support  when i was going through it from 2 women who had been there and done it and it made the world of difference for me.
